This I have done all of my life. You can save tons on buying items that's have just been opened/lightly used. Computers, TVs, cameras, game consoles, headphones (Most recently saved 90 dollars on a pair of Bose QC 35 II headphones that seemed like they barely got touched)... This even extends even past electronics. Most stores that offer refurbs will include a guarantee, so there's no loss in trying.
