Hey. New here. If asking this question isn't what this sub allows then my apologies and I will remove it. Thank you.
A neighbor asked a friend of mine, an older gentleman in his 70s if he can fix his 'Shimaha CG260FHA Brush Cutter'. He's pretty good at fixing things and gladly takes projects on to keep him busy in retirement. This is the third day he worked on it and has now officially thrown in the towel....or he says. Tomorrow's a new day.
It wasn't working at all I believe when he first got it and now he can sometimes get it to start but, even when he does, it doesn't stay on that long.
From what he told me he took apart the engine and then the carburetor and cleaned it all using compressed air. He also emptied and refilled it with new gas.
He has time on his hands and a lot of pride in his work with a resume to back it up so I'm pretty confident he did things correctly. He's not an expert on these tools specifically nor is he perfect though so I understand still questioning it.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what may still be done to fix this 'Shimaha CG260FHA Brush Cutter' with starting and staying on issues?
Like to help him out if possible since he seemed a bit beaten by it. He knows how to search for things online but it's mostly to buy stuff on Amazon and getting angry going through Facebook.
Thanks for your time and any help.
