I got my monthly credit score report today and it dropped 30 points from last month. It had been stable (+ / - 3 or 5 points) for a couple years. I've never seen this before. The only cause could be that the wife and I had to buy a new heating and hot water system for our home. We charged the $20k to a credit card in April. Thankfully, we have the savings to pay that off immediately (we don't carry a balance on the card, ever.) Would just the act of charging something that large cause the drop?
