I just bought:
- 2 Shampoos (Head & Shoulder Anti - Dandruff)
- 2 packs of diet coke (6 bottle pack). I'm an addict :(
- 2 Ghirardelli Sea Salt Almond Chocolate Bars
- 2 packs of Huggies sensitive baby wipes.
Total: $19!
The actual total was $31.18 at Walgreens. However:
- Walgreens has been having pretty much every week $5 credits that you digitally clip as coupons to your account. Because I had previously clipped a $5 credit coupon, I could apply it to this order.
- Ghiradelli was 2/$6 with an additional $1 off coupon.
- Huggies is 2/$5. (This is actually cheaper at my local super market)
- Coke is on sale for 2/$7.
- Walgreens has an additional Valentine's Day sale where they apply an extra 15% off on orders $25+
- Head & Shoulder has buy one, second half off sale.
Had I gone to the store to purchase these things, I would've been flustered trying to get all the coupons marked up so I do it online and order it for pick up. No holding up the line, no cutting coupons from papers, and can save some money. On average, the items cost me $2.38 each, which is lower than it would've cost me going to my local supermarket. Coke alone costs $5! The total cost at the local supermarket would be $30.94.
Of course, everything I bought was brand name. If you buy store brand, it's even cheaper. Finding the closest store brand alternatives at my local supermarket for the wipes and shampoo, it would be $23.94. I couldn't change the coke because ... addict? I couldn't find an equivalent to the chocolate.
