I tried to run my garbage disposal earlier today, and it wouldn’t switch on, so I reached in to see what was clogging it and pulled out... a broken glass that had metal pieces on it. Not good. I did some basic troubleshooting but I was pretty sure it was shot.
I knew the system was about a decade past its warranty so I almost just called a local plumber to come tell me it’s at the end of its life BUT I figured I would call the service number just in case. They told me what I already knew... the warranty is over and I need to call a servicer on my own dime...
Then they offered me a 40% off coupon code if I need to buy a new one!
So I just bought a top of the line 1 HP garbage disposal for the cost of a service call because I called the manufacturer first!
