This works for multiple types of cereal "dust" but likely works better with mini wheat style or bran type cereals. Feel free to experiment!
It uses up the forgotten leftovers of your cupboard and fridge for ultimate frugality!!
Mini-Wheat Muffins
1.5 tsp baking powder (or 2/3 tsp baking soda) 2 cups flour 1 cup of cereal dust 2/3rd cup sugar cup sugar (white or brown. Use a bit less if brown) 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
2/3 to 3/4 cup milk (depends if you change sugar) 1/2 cup oil (or 1/2cup applesauce or yogurt) 2 eggs (up oil of you only use one egg)
Combine the dry ingredients in one bowl. Mix the wet ingredients well in another bowl. Pour them into one bowl and stir together. Let sit for 10 minutes (this allows the mini wheats soften up a bit and be less crunchy in the final product).
Bake at 350 F for aprox 12 minutes . Use toothpick test.
