Hello World,
I am a 29 year old man, who was recently laid off from my job. I have unemployment benefits coming in, only $300 a week. (Don’t get me wrong, it helps, and I’m grateful it’s there) My rent is $550 a month and gas/food expenses generally cost about $150-175 a month. So I’m making $1200 a month for now. My problem is that I spend carelessly, I don’t have a system. I’ve tried to make a budget, but, I’ll admit it...I’m overwhelmed by it all. I’m aware that I like to think I know how to handle money, but deep down, I know I don’t know the half of it. Can anyone help break down finances for me, in a digestible way? How to create a budget...for dummies? I can’t live with the stress of poverty anymore, and I’m actively looking for a decent career, but none of that will matter if I can’t manage my money properly. Thanks for your time.
