I heard somewhere (perhaps one of those online advice columns) that one should always go for quality over cost on whatever is between you and the ground. The example given being mattresses, tires and shoes. This being to protect your back and car from damage or expensive repair or treatment.
Is there anything else where a cheap version will end up costing more in the log run?
I have cheap tools and I know some people are opposed to that, but I only use tools 2 or 3 times a year, so I don't see that as a problem the way my life is now.
Thank you for your time and advice.
