Been with the company 3.5 years. Started hourly, the salaried at 45k. Next bump was 47.5k and then 55k a year ago (where I’m currently at). Started in a new role / new department 6 months ago and at the time HR told me there was no pay increase with the new role but “room to increase at end of year.” I have my performance review next week with my boss and boss’s boss, and today my boss told me I should ask for a raise because she “knows how much I make, knows what others make, and knows the value I bring.” Never asked for a raise before, what % increase would be appropriate given my previous jumps? I feel the company has been generous to me and I do don’t want to come across as greedy, but now that my boss straight up told me to ask for a raise I’m unsure. After googling the average salary for my role and region is 67k.
Appreciate any help!
