The title is pretty self explanatory but here's a longer version with more details
We are in South Carolina and she has Melina Healthcare
A couple months ago (August - September) my girlfriend had a root canal, 6 fillings, and a cleaning done. She ended up paying $3500 for all of this. But now she finds out that her insurance actually cover dental work to be done. They didn't check if she had insurance because she didn't think her coverage covered dental. Would it be possible to get some of or all of this money back? Would we go through the dentist or the insurance company or both? We know for a fact that her coverage covers everything listed above.
