This is going to be short and sweet but hopefully it helps to reinforce the importance of having an emergency fund.
My wife and I have been saving up over the last year after buying our first home. We have about 6 months worth of savings stashed in a high yield savings account.
This morning I went to go make coffee before work and was greeted by a huge puddle under the refrigerator. Had someone come look at it and sadly this model has fairly common compressor issues. It looks like it won't be worth it to fix and we will more than likely end up getting a new fridge.
Having an emergency fund with a healthy balance has made a situation like this almost stress free. Save for a rainy day everyone you never know when you might need it!
