I have an ambulance bill from 5/24/2020. Insurance did not pay until August. I received my first bill from EMSA 8/24/2020 for the remainder amount of $986.37. I called EMSA and set up a payment plan of $100.00 a month to be sent on the 15th. I received September and October no issue. I paid both months the day I received the statements on the 20th of each month. I have receipts. I do not however have in writing my payment plan agreement. I didn’t know I would need it since EMSA is reputable.

I never got my bill for November and received a letter today from Wakefield and Associates that my debt had been sent to collections for $786.37.

What do I do? I paid my payment plan as agreed and this should have never been sent to collections. I don’t want this to wrongfully be on my credit history since I was doing everything right. Can it be “un-sent” to collections by EMSA? I’ll even pay EMSA in full if they’ll just resolve this ordeal but I just don’t know what to do.
