So, I’m currently working my first real non-contractual full time job at a big canadian company. I have varied work /interships experiences totalling around 2-2.5 years. I don’t really have any issues with my current job. Colleagues and work atmosphere are laid back which suits my personality. I have no major complaints with my tasks either.

Only issue I have with this company is their bonus structure. No bonus at all for more “junior” titles like me but I essentially do similar projects as senior colleagues. What’s funny is, before I accepted the current position, I tried negotiating their salary offer because I knew I could’ve gotten a little better elsewhere. Got denied and they said keeping internal salary equity is important to them. Where is the salary equity in this when their bonus system is structured like this? I will talk to my boss about this but I know that he won’t be able to change anything; the bonus allocations are beyond his scope. And I know that they won’t most likely match the offer (+27% in salary) I got.

The new job’s tasks are relatively similar but in a smaller company so I might have to cover more grounds. Commute is a tad longer but nothing major especially with a 3/2 office/home schedule.

What do y’all think?
