Are you looking for a headset/microphone combo made out of hardy metals and plastics that won't fall apart like a namby-pamby "gaming" headset?

Do you want to spend a one-time sum and never have to buy headphones again?
Do you want your headset to look like you frequently hang out in the loading bay of the AC-130 Hercules?
Then consider the PC-specific products from David Clark, a famed manufacturer of airplane/helicopter headsets you've seen elsewhere in this subreddit.
Personal experience:
$450-ish spent on https://store.davidclark.com/computer-headsets/model-h-pc-40642g-01, plugged into my motherboard's input/output 3.5mm plugs, and never had to do any adjustments. The frame is metal, the plastic is robust and the gel around-the-ear cups have optional cloth covers in the accessories store (if you hate the feeling of the smooth plastic). Notably, that plastic has not reacted at all to sweat, so I'm not getting that cheap pleather flaking one might get.
So far (about a year), none of the materials have demonstrated notable wear and tear. The cups provide so much passive noise cancellation that I can't hear anything happening near me. Doorbells, cats fighting, partner yelling to stop gaming and come to bed, it's like none of it exists.
Just about every headset I've ever had (some genuinely well-regarded ones like COWIN E8) failed around the cup-to-headband attachment point. I guess I'm hard on my stuff. I don't foresee this being a problem with this headset.
Note: I don't mention sound quality or microphone quality because I am the farthest thing from a connoisseur. It works, people understand me, I hear sounds in stereo, and can adjust headset volume on each cup separately, if I want. Whether the headset captures the full true range of bass and delicate bird-call notes is for someone else to decide. I just want a headset that won't fall apart with 6 months of active use.
