I'm considering doing a helical pile foundation for a 12x20 shed I want to build. From the estimates, it should have 6 total piles and have three 12ft long beams on which the floor of the shed would stand. The question here is what sized beams should I use?The contractor mentioned either two 2x8x12 or two 2x10x12 per beam. The latter being better. Since height is an issue and I'm looking to use the building as a workshop and light mechanic (motorcycles, etc), he recommended 2x8x12 with a piece of 3/4 regular OSB plywood sandwiched between the 2x8. Should I be concerned there may be an issue with this either like rot or even weight in the long run?I also don't think I can find 12ft length plywood. If going that route, would I just get 4ft and 8ft and glue/nail them between the 2x8s? Would that actually do anything? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/3bw28dl
