I’m a 23 year old male, completed my BS in electrical engineering this past May and landed a job with a $70k salary. To be honest, I am too excited to understand the change in my financial status and I would like to know what are good ideas to make sure I save/invest enough. I want to know things people wish they did when they graduated college and had no wife/kids.
I am debt free at the moment, no car/house loans, I have a credit card but owe nothing at the moment. Anticipating to spend about $1.5k/month when I relocate (rent included). My lifestyle is simple, maybe because I’ve never had extra money to throw around, but I plan to keep it simple. I enjoy good food and drinks but don’t care much for materialistic items.
I have been educating myself in personal finance for a while now but I want to know how real people, with real experiences or similar situations handled this change in their life. This is more money than I’ve ever made, obviously, and I want to be smart and set myself up for the future. Really hoping to get into stocks and real estate now that I will have extra cash to invest.
