I live in atlanta GA which is hot and humid most of the year and currently have an aging gas hot water heater. Been debating and got a few quotes but cant get a consensus on gas tankless or electric hybrid (heat pump) water heater.
On the one hand gas is cheap and tankless heaters are very energy efficient. The other hand hybrid is also energy efficient, will cool and dehumidify my house but it runs on electricity which might be more expensive. Especially in the brief periods of time in the year when atlanta is cold and it would need to most likely use more of its heating elements.
Thought I would pose the question to reddit to see if anybody has a strong opinion.
