Been doing some research on building a floating/ground level deck and videos seem to just slap it together with not much detail/instruction. I got some quotes from some local contractors and they were going to charge $5K+.I am looking to build a 18x12x2 deck of the back door and unsure of some things.How far off the house can I put my footings?What are the best footings for this height? how far down do they need to go?What are some planning tools/resources to use?Do you build the frame with steps in mind? or add stair frame later?What is sufficient amount of weather proofing?
