The title, a little extra background. I've been living like a minimalist-or my version of it-for a couple of years, but even before that I believed a reduction of things would allow me to find what I truly value. I've found a handful, but I'd like to learn what others find joy in so maybe I can find joy in it too.
I enjoy having an alarm clock instead of my phone and other single use items like a pedometer. These keep me away from social media and that temptation when I shouldn't have it i.e. bed time.
I enjoy tea, the whistling kettle, or just the boiling water. As an American tea time wasn't a thing for me growing up, but I've enjoyed making it a daily habit. Particularly in these times we are in, I look forward to it more everyday.
Space to learn, grow, and play. I'm an educator, so I am interested in learning. I keep 2 or 3 books I read to keep me close to my goals, a handful of playful items like a wooden music frog and kendama, and drawing pad to pursue some sort of art. I love to read my books in a camping chair my girlfriend got me from her place of work. It's very comfortable.
What do you have in your life that doesn't necessarily sustain you physically, but you know you truly value and would be a little less happy without?
