My employer offers a Stock Discount program to employees. I can buy my company’s (a publicly traded bank) stock at a 10% discount. I’ve been purchasing for years to varying degrees. As a single person, it’s more like $15 worth a paycheck, and when I was married it was $60 a paycheck. There is just a one year vesting period before I can sell it. I have two primary questions- 1) Should I invest more in the Stock Discount program? Is it a worthwhile investment? 2) Once vested, how long should I hold the stock? Unfortunately, it’s become my only investment outside of my retirement accounts.

Thanks for you thoughts, FP community!
