After highschool I immediately started working. My parents passed away when I was 19, and ever since then, Ive been on my own. It took a very long time to get on my feet. I now have a job that pays slightly above my state's minimum wage. My dream is to be a high-level buisness executive, and I've been told that a specialized bachelor's degree in buisness would really help. I plan on working fulltime while going to community college then a state school.
I make between $1700-2000 depending on the month after taxes while working full time, there's not much left for me to save after necessities and bills. I live alone, and it's not possible for me to live with other people. While I really want to go to school, I need to be able to live alone and meet my bills.
I know I'll have to cut down my work hours at least somewhat for the degree I want, but I'd still have to work full-time to meet my bills. I understand I'd have to take on a lot of loans, but I have to meet my bills. I'm also looking for a job that will offer tuition reimbursement. Since I'd never imagined I'd go back to school, I am completely out of my depth. I'm 25 now, and if I work full-time and take community college part-time, I'd probably be in my 30's by the time I graduate.
My questions are:
-
Is it possible to be successful in college while working full time, and be able to meet my bills?
-
Is the return on investment worth the time and effort put in, especially with the age I'd be graduating at?
-
Can you get approved for loans with no credit history if you don't have a cosigner?
