I'm having roof work done soon, and because it's new roofing, to meet UK building regulations I have to bring my loft insulation (currently 100mm) up to at least 270mm. I'm planning to do the work myself and will be using the loft frequently afterwards so I'd prefer not to use fibreglass but to use one of the "itch free" materials - sheep's wool or polyester. However, I can't find either of those materials in rolls over 150mm thick, which won't quite meet regs. There's plenty of "top up" 170mm and 200mm fibreglass around for people in my situation, but I can't find the itch free materials above 150mm anywhere.I don't want to spend hundreds of quid on insulation for the inspector to get his tape measure out and tell me it's an inch too shallow, so skimping on depth isn't an attractive option. Where can I find a sufficient depth of insulation? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/37kMD52
