The more I minimize and simplify my life, the more I realize that every object has an intrinsic and sentimental value. When I moved out of my parents’ house, I was given things like kitchen utensils and home goods. I had this mindset that I’d get more aesthetically pleasing stuff to replace it when I could afford it.

Truly seeing the value of things makes me very sentimental, having memories of my parents scattered around my apartment, instead of new stuff. My parents always taught me to buy something nice the first time and take care of it, and not to buy something cheap and have to replace it.

It feels incredible to not care about the aesthetics of things and appreciate their true value.
