I was informed today that my position at my company will be eliminated in 30 days. At that time I will have the option to receive severance the equivalent of two weeks pay.
I guess my biggest question is if I take this severance pay, does it make me ineligible for unemployment?
The agreement says something along the lines of "other than payment for time worked, no payments, benefits, or consideration shall be provided to me by the company".
I am pretty sure I will receive more in unemployment than the two week pay severance.
Edit: Also does anyone know if they are required to pay out my PTO? A quick Google search tells me the law doesn't specify in Missouri, whatever that means.
