Hey.I rent out a studio apartment. I've lived here for 2.5 years, but would like to fix this:https://ift.tt/2NPrqIY since I've moved in, every outlet + light switch + cable + fuse box has been lazily painted over by the laziest painters known to man.Anyway most of the stuff works (except the odd light switch).I do have a working coaxial cable on the opposite side of the apartment, but this one would be much more convenient.I saw other threads were people said this was an "easy fix" with an exacto knife and replacement coaxial plate, and maybe a male-to-male adaptor of some sort?Questions: Should I do this myself or contact my landlord? He's 70 and doesn't text or email, ever, and may not even understand the problem. It's a big complex, would Comcast fix this for free or a small charge? Is there an electrical risk here with this? I guess I should shut off all the power in the powerbox as a precaution?Okay say I get an Exacto/ other knife and cut around the border of this thing and try to pry it out --- aren't the screws still attached to something?Any guidance would be appreciated here. I'm not very handy but I can do basic stuff like fix a garbage disposal + the landlord left spare paint here so --- thinking about giving it a whirl. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2qVhpBe
