Hi, I'm an arborist and I am trying to make wood flooring out of a lightning struck tree I had to remove. It is pine that I have slabbed and air dried and I have not yet ripped to width. I am planning on routing tongues and grooves into the boards. My plan is to make boards 4 or 5 inches wide, and I am wondering if I will just be able to blind nail these in the tongues or if they should have additional nails in the faces. I know this floor isn't going to be anywhere near perfect but I want something that won't fail immediately. The room is 100 square feet.I have been searching high and low but the only answer I could find said that blind nailing is sufficient for strip flooring in the 2.5 inch range, and info about wide planks I In the 6-10" range. I would like to avoid glueing the boards in case I mess things up terribly I don't want it to be a nightmare if I have to tear it up.Suggestions or advice greatly appreciated! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2MnseEg
