I don't make much money, but I save like crazy. I actually have a decent amount of savings despite making just under what's considered a living wage for my area.

I only eat one meal a day that I cook at home completely from scratch, I DIY everything I possibly can so I never pay anyone else for any kind of services, I don't have health insurance, or any subscription services.

The biggest thing though is that i consider money that has gone into my savings account to be spent and gone. I can't bring myself to spend it. There are plenty of months when I can't afford to put anything into savings and that's fine, but once it goes in even if I run out of grocery money and can't buy food for a week, I can't bring myself to touch it. I think it's kind of an obsession.

The only times I've ever touched my savings is when I needed to buy car parts to keep my car running since I use my car for work and would lose my income without it.

Is this a good thing, or a bad thing? How can I relax more about this? Anyone else relate at all?

I've ended up without a place to live before due to just plain not earning enough, I think that contributed to this.
