I've been shopping for a recliner for the past few weeks. Today I went into town and found a newly opened furniture store that I decided to pop into. Boy, was that a mistake...not only was everything ridiculously expensive (I saw recliners that cost $800) but I was made very uncomfortable by the sales associate who followed me around the store, kept calling my name, and treated every item I looked at like a locked in sale. I mentioned I liked one chair and she said "oh, so do you want to buy it now?" I politely said that I needed to call my friend with a truck to see if he could help me pick it up, and she walked me over to the cash register and said "oh, delivery is only $99! How would you like to pay?"

I ended up breaking away from her and exiting out of the back of the store and did a lap around the shopping plaza to get back to my car.

I drove down to Big Lots which has a pretty nice furniture section and found a recliner on clearance for $200. Had everything I wanted in a chair. The employee took it apart, loaded it in my car, and thanked me for my purchase. I made out like a bandit, and the cheap recliner that is now front and center in my living room is just as comfortable as the $500 and $600 ones that were being pushed on me.

If you're in the market for nice furniture, Big Lots is not a store to ignore.
