OK, so it's more like a 1.5" gap. Previous homeowner (I think builder) made a great courtyard, and used 2x4s between slabs of concrete. I'm sure it looked great at the time.Fast forward, many of the the wood pieces are gone because of rot. some remain. I want to yank them all out and do something better, I just don't know what exactly.Here's a typical areaHere's a closeup ... because closeup!Anyways, my initial thought is to dig everything out - I guess that probably goes with any other recommendation aside from 'leave it alone'So dig everything out, and then cut red brick to fit into place.
