Hi, I am trying to fix the hot and cold valves for the washing machine hookups. Both faucets leak when closed although the hot more so. Lowe's didn't seem to have much for just the valve itself, just the entire box unit. The drywall was already damaged from the leak.I'm assuming you can't just replace the valves as it didn't unscrew when I tried to unscrew the valve with another wrench on the nut below. I guess I would probably just cut the copper pipe at the straight end going down into the bend and then into the old valve box. Then I would clean inside and outside of house plumbing with brush/sandpaper, sweat new bends onto the new valve box, then sweat or compression fit onto house plumbing, and/or give up halfway through and call a plumber to charge me extra for messing this up myself? is that about right?https://ift.tt/2GhyZEe via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2Z1guLC
