I’m probably super late to this party, and apologies if this is ridiculously obvious to people who are not me:

In summer, instead of blasting the AC to “much colder than the daytime temp” to stop from overheating when you sleep at night under a heavy comforter, switch to a thinner cotton quilt or even just a thin woven blanket (over bedsheets of course). I honestly hadn’t ever considered that anything other than a comforter or a duvet was even an option for bedding and then I suffered a total facepalm. Quilts aren’t really my style but there are some really plain solid color ones out there. We ended up going with a plain thin woven blanket and are able to comfortably sleep at 75° all night, no sweating or foot-snorkeling.
