So, I needed fresh broccoli for dinner and all the grocery had was the vegetable in a shrink wrapped container that I thought was .99 a pound. Au contraire, it was $2.99 for the bunch that weighed in at just about half a pound. I had the cashier remove it and then went to the ethnic grocery and paid .79 a pound.
Moral of the story: Be careful about those pre-packaged items in the vegetable aisle -- they can be monstrously over priced.
