I’m looking at a checked bag for an upcoming trip(12-13 days) and also some business travel that could be longer than a few days. I’ve been able to do carry on (and backpack) for a nine day leisure trip, but also did some laundry, which I am fine doing on this trip if needed.

My current carry on is a delsey Roller from 2010/11 that can expand by a couple inches with a zipper. It’s soft bodied. This was also the one I used in japan.

Usually when I come back from trips, I’ll check my bag because I’ll have beer/liquor in it.

The reason I’m looking at the checked bag is to reduce the worry of having to shuffle around things to make them barely fit. Also gives me some wardrobe flexibility without overpacking. There’s also a garment side I can pack a suit in should the need arise. I’ve been eyeing Briggs and Riley’s medium baseline because that may be the ideal size for me since anything bigger would be overkill.

For those that have the medium baseline roller, what are your thoughts? From what I’ve read on here, they’re great. I’m just gone use my carry on when needed (or when it’s more ideal to do so) until it wears out. But I would still like a checked bag
