Greetings,I just wanted to share a knife I made recently. I was watching youtube and stumbled upon someone making a survival style knife out of a file... Well, my grandfather passed away in 2016 from cancer and my father kept his tools. We're big tools guys in my family. But I thought I'd sneak and use one of my grandpas old rusty files to make a commemorative knife gift for my father. It was rather difficult because one of the sides was rounded. While the other was flat. But other then that, it really wasn't difficult and a great beginner project. I only used a dremel, hand belt sander, and hand drill. A bunch of wood stain and epoxy.I was going for something for chopping and starting fires. It does that quite well. Slicing wise, I tried cutting a tomato with it and it really tore it up given the file nubs. :D I haven't given it to him yet. I'm a bit hesitant.http://bit.ly/2I1kPIR via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2XtdvLf
