Hi DIYers,I'm doing a camper van conversion, and part of the project has involved installing solar panels on the roof of the van (2017 Ford Transit). I used VHB tape attached to mounting brackets for this (seems to be the most popular approach). I'm not experienced with industrial-grade tape, so naturally I'm a bit paranoid that the tape will fail, despite loads of anecdotes of other DIY converters assuring me otherwise. My primary concern about my own install is that I had to reposition the panels multiple times during the install, and by reposition I mean some of the tape had inadvertently made contact with the van surface, requiring some force to unseat.Does anyone know if this sort of "repositioning" will affect the integrity of the tape adhesive in the long term? The tape was never in contact for more than a couple seconds with the van, but nevertheless it was in contact and quickly became difficult to remove nonetheless. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2vCni5q
