My father and I ( He taught me this ) go to two different garbage dumps outside the city every couple of weekends to shop. One is about 20 and the other 40 min out of town. At the closer one the workers there pocket the money and you can haggle with them on what you wanna purchase. My dad last week bought a table top wet tile saw for $40, a big box of all sealed in their packages flood lites for $8 and a huge electric water tank that looked brand new for $20 ( All he had to do was drain the left over water and put in an element ) It works. I bought two old school bikes ( CCM and Shwinn ) for $5 each, two 6' ladders for $5 a piece as well. The other dump I got a 10' CB antenna ( Which I'll use at my cabin that's there for the old school tv I picked up as well ) my dad got a tv/vcr combo, an old turntable to spin vinyl and two lawnmowers. All this was for a micky of whiskey and a 2 litre of Pepsi! Next time you ever go to the dump, barter with the worker and see what kind of deal you can come up with. This is a fun and profitable hobby my dad n I do together and it's quality time spent with a parent. 😃
