So I've made a surfboard/paddle board trailer and I wanted to attach one of those folding canopy's to it.http://bit.ly/2YCGuMI canopy is 10x10 and my trailer is much smaller, maybe around 4 feet up top where I'm attaching it. Right now my plan is to secure it with an L bracket to the front corner of the top and then secure another section of the canopy with a U bolt to the back top corner. There would be a total of 4 5/16 bolts holding the center (2 on canopy, 2 on frame) + Ubolt (or maybe another bracket w/ 5/16 bolts). So a 10x10 canopy with some wind can cause some serious torque. My initial feeling is that some wind with 5 foot moment could wreck some havoc on those 5/16 bolts. The canopy steel isn't that strong and I'm wondering if its even feasible to try and secure it to trailer. Maybe I could make my own bracket and ubolt each canopy arm down to a baseplate and then secure the base plate to the frame? Fall back is to lightly secure it and just use sand bags to weigh it down. But i'd like to avoid it if I can. Thoughts?Edit: this is kind of like the canopy I haveProcessing gif 70spuxrc1lz21... via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2M0ngPO
