I have a two-single-pole combination switch: two half-height switches in one gang. The top switch controls a closet light. The bottom switch controls one outlet in every receptacle in the room. Here is a picture.Three wires connect to the switch: one black, one yellow, one purple. The black wire is connected to a black screw; I think that it's the hot wire. The other two wires are connected to what look like brass screws on the other side of the switch; I think that they're load wires. Nothing is connected to the ground screw.I don't want either of these switches: I want the closet light to always be on, and the outlets to always be on. Can I simply use a wire nut to connect these three wires, and then remove the switch?I've looked online for answers. I've found many instructions about wiring such switches, but none that speak to removing them by joining all three in a single wire nut. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2VuYqqz
