I’m taking my old decking boards off and replacing them next week. Problem is I cant cleanly take out the old screws because most of them are stripped, oxidized to hell or buried so deep in the wood I can even see them. Therefore I need to force the boards out.The problem is I’ll likely be end up having to drill in some of those gouged out holes with my new boards. Most decking screws are 8 x 2” or 8 x 3”. Unfortunately the old ones were so 8 x 3” so going deeper is probably not an option.This seems like a stupid problem to have but I want the new boards to be attached properly.
