I was just hired by LuminaCare Solutions as a work from home Admin Support (customer support and some other duties). The interview was done through email, text, and primarily Google Hangouts. Its the first time I have never interviewed with somebody in person it was a little weird.
The interview was via Hangouts over 2 days the first one getting my info and the second getting more info. I was then notified that I was hired and that they would send me a check to purchase supplies to work from home (printer, laptop, etc.). They were pretty clear to make sure I understood what I would be getting and what my duties would be. The guy who interviewed me told me that I would buy my equipment from a registered vendor with them that would set me all up.
They sent me new hire documents that look official but I am still wary about this. The email the primary interviewer used was a Gmail which seems super strange to me. Is this some type of scam that I have never ran across? I just left my current job and applied via Indeed last week. Just wondering if anybody else has encountered something like this and maybe have recommendations to protect myself if this is scammy.
Thank you
100% a scam guy wont even provide me a phone number to confirm. Saying I am being a skeptic XD. Well glad I found out about this scam to be wary of it going forward looking for a job. Thanks for the help!
