I’m only 20 and so I haven’t had much experience filing taxes, honestly kind of stupid in the area.

In October, I changed jobs so when January came around, I had to W-2 forms. I never received one of my forms so I contacted my employer and they emailed it to me, although for some reason, they emailed the employer copy.

After I already filed my taxes, my previous employer contacted me and informed me of an error on my W-2. In Box 12, they used the Code D for 401K rather than DD but all the numbers stayed the same.

Do I need to file an amend as the code was wrong? And if I do, how do I do so? I’ve been filing my taxes online and amends can’t. Would I need to send in copies of my W-2s and if yes, I only have the employer copy for my first job, is that accepted?

Thanks and sorry for the stupid question, I haven’t been able to find an answer.
