Hey everyone- I'm looking to do something a bit novel.I'm DIY custom modding an Xbox One S controller with a Nintendo DS style layout and set-up. What I'd really love to do is install a New-DS style analog stick (the flat multi-directional one) into an Xbox One S Controller in place of the usual left analog thumbstick. What I need help with is how to go about this. I can figure out the mounting/clamshell modification to physically attach the stick to the controller, but I need to know how to solder to make this happen. The DS analog module has ribbon style connectors. While Xbox controllers use solder points. How do I do about frankensteining the DS module into an xbox board? Is there soldering 'glue' I can use? Can I split the ribbon with a razor to connect the points to the proper solder locations? Will the DS module even communicate properly with the controller board if I do this?I'm sure I'm using some incorrect terminology, so picture to both modules below if it helps. I've done some soldering in the past but am no expert- but I do have a cheap, used controller ready to go that I'm willing to sacrifice if I mess something up too badly.Nintendo DS analog module:http://bit.ly/2E0JBpZ One S Thumbstick Module:http://bit.ly/2WLqrfe via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2E5A6pj
