So I was looking for some reasonably priced dress shoes and came across these Carlos Santana GYW oxfords.
They were exactly the style I needed so I ordered some at $124 last week with Macy's coupon code. Due to some unrelated logistical SNAFUs I ended up having 5 pairs of them and had to make multiple trips to return them, but a heroic sales associate( if I ever run into her again I should give her a tip for her trouble) glanced at the price and noticed that their "in-store" price for these was $62, because it was being discontinued, but they were OOS in store so you couldn't actually buy them. She told me that I could return them and buy them back at the store price. It took me a day or two to figure out which I size and style I wanted and I went back and a different sales associate rang it up exactly like the first one said. So I got these very nice GYW black oxfords for $62.
The shoes themselves came in a very nice package with insoles, dust covers, extra laces, a very hefty solid (like 1/4" thick) brushed metal shoehorn and a nice etching of a guitar on the leather sole. I'm not a huge shoe snob or anything but to me quality was easily superior to the J.crew Boat oar Oxfords and comparable to Allen Edmonds, both of which I had ordered at the same time.
I would guess that the trick would also work for any of the other Carlos Santana shoes - they also have a blake stitched version that was slightly cheaper and just as nice.
