I have a few options available to start jobs in sales. Basically it will be either a car allowance of ~$700/month or straight mileage reimbursement.
I’m estimating about 100 miles each day, 20 days per month, so round numbers $1,200/month on the mileage reimbursement.
My 2005 Mazda 6 that smells like mildew and oldness isn’t going to cut it for entertaining customers.
I’m thinking I should get an Accord or similar, 2016 or newer, maybe hybrid to minimize the gas cost.
At the rate at which I would depreciate the vehicle, would it be better to pay less for an already higher mileage car or get one low and trade after a year or 18 months?
Anybody in the business or familiar with the most economical way to keep a nice enough vehicle for the job without paying through the nose?
