My wife and I bank with PNC and we both work at jobs that provide cash tips so we use the PNC 24/7 ATM to deposit it. Well tonight, we go with $855 to be exact, it’s a lot of bills, a mixture of 20s 5s and 1s, and the prompt on the screen after doing all of our normal routine with it says “Please stack all bills uniformly and insert into the cash deposit slot” so we do.
It spins and says “$817, is this correct?”
So we press the button that says “no, return the cash” so we can recount it to see what happened.
It just spins and spins for about 30 seconds (never happened before) and then gives us our card back and says “transactions unable to be processed, please contact the help desk at your local branch”
And didn’t give us our cash.
So we sit there to wait and see if it does anything, but nothing.
We can’t just lose $800, we have bills to pay.
What can I do? Our local branch of PNC doesn’t open again until Monday.
