I am sanding a bathroom cabinet door in preparation for staining it. It had paint on it and I used paint remover to remove the paint. As I was sanding with 60 grit to get the last of the paint off,a small white blotch appeared in the wood. I thought I would just sand it off but as I kept sanding it grew bigger. Perhaps some paint remover on the wood heated up and spread as I sanded. I have no idea what happened or what to do to save it. Any advice would be appreciated.
