[edit] It's clear enough I'm heading for trouble with this. I'll get a professional in to do this, and thanks for the replies.I have cleared and floored the attic of my house. It is now used as a music room, with a bunch of instrucments, some electric, and my home office.I spliced into the circuit on the floor below, which had lighting and powerpoints, to run lights and power in the attic.There are 4 power points, and 3 light fittings.My problem is that when we have a lot going on, it will trip the fuse that protects that circuit. Everything goes off. This is particularly likely when I switch on the small laser printer I use - to the point that I had to buy an inkjet printer to be able to print.Obviously, I have too much load on the circuit.Is this as simple as putting in a higher capacity fuse on the fusebox? I realise that might be the stupidest suggestion anyone has ever heard, but the only alternative I can see is to run a completely new and seperate circuit from the fusebox to the attic, which seems like a lot of work (and not something I could do myself).This is in the UK, but I'm guessing electricity works the same everywhere . . . joking aside, I want it to be safe, but I'd like to get reliable power to the space.Any other suggestions? I'm happy to get a qualified electrician in if necessary, just want to avoid having to pull things apart to run new wiring if I can. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2GpCmt2
