I don't regret it. At all. Today I would have paid $214 for my car payment. But I don't have to. Granted, instead of spending it on a car payment I will be spending that money on maintenance (getting some fluids changed). Though next month, that money will just go straight to travelling for my anniversary. And the following month it'll go to savings. It's liberating not having that debt hanging over my head.

I also learned how to change spark plugs, air filters, and a PCV Valve on my own. Which I've never done before. I saved $150 on the spark plugs alone, by not taking it to a shop to be done. I absolutely recommend you guys watch YouTube videos on car repairs anytime you need it, before paying a shop. Also repaired some cosmetic damage with stuff I already had, so I didn't spend anything.

I have had to spend a little extra money on it, just getting some stuff done (coolant, transmission fluid, spark plugs, etc) so I feel more comfortable taking it on a 2000 mile trip next month. Though I think it's worth it in the end. I'm also excited to be getting far better gas milage, which will be nice with all the highway driving next month.

I thought it was boring when I bought it. I felt like a loser for getting rid of the fancy car for this, but I think it was just the shock of driving something so different. I totally don't mind it anymore. I am starting to love this basic little Corolla. I get to call it mine and that's the best part of it.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for the positive reinforcement in my last post. I feel silly for feeling so down about it at the time. It's crazy how we can become so obsessed with material items and status symbols. I'm still working on improving my financial health even more. But everyone was super supportive and offered great advice. This is a great community.
