I bought a black Aritzia coat in January, and literally in 3 months the color has faded a noticeable amount. The hood is especially bad because I actually used it every day, but the seams and random areas are faded to white as well. I've just never had a coat become like this, especially so quickly. Maybe it's more noticeable because the coat is black? It just doesn't look like a new, few months old coat. I reached out to Aritzia about it and they offered to exchange it. But I don't even know if I want to do that because I feel like I'll have the same issue next winter. Plus, how can I trust it going through a cleaning process knowing how easily the color fades? What do you guys think, is it normal for coats to be like this? Are there ways to take better care of the coat to prevent signs of wear (though I honestly was pretty gentle with the coat and took care of it because it was so expensive)? Should I exchange for a different color, like the gray so fading is less noticeable? Or just forget the coat, exchange for some regular clothing and get a different coat next winter?
