So I hit Old Navy today after I saw the post about BOGO jeans. While there, I spotted some joggers that I love in new colors - with a sign that said “select activewear up to 50% off” with no specifics. Not really in the mood to be sociable, I took them over to the scanner thing that will show the price, but it pulled up $34.99, the original price. For some reason, I thought to myself, “I’ll check online” and there they were, for $24-26. Score!
BUT. When I got to the checkout, they rang up at full price, so I told the checker, “these are on sale online, so I’d like that price, or I’ll pass.” Of course, she over-rode and gave me the sale. So lesson learned, always check your the online price, juuuust in case. This time it saved me $20.
Side note, I also got a pair of pixies that were on better sale in store than online - so assuming they have the item you want in store, it pays to go in store since humans can price adjust.
